Simple for young children: Just color fill in the pre-defined outlines
And simple for older children:
Four tools: pen, paint-pot fill, brush and Smart Brush
Incidently, older children might like to lose the picture outline - uncheck the Menu/Draw/Always Outline option.
Picture Ideas
Macdoodle gives (hey, speaks) suggestions for pictures by clicking the "?" button. The suggestion level can be changed (Menu/Draw/Suggestion) and there is a different suggestion for each frame: 26 frames, ten suggestion levels = 260 suggestions! That should keep 'em busy - you too, I hope, since some suggestions may need Daddy's help :-)
Want to make your own outline drawings?
The default Line Drawings can be changed using Etchelon Tracer - just open the Default Outlines file, clear out one or more of the frames in the 1 to 26 range, draw your picture (tracing over an "Trace Image" perhaps?) use the Menu/File/Save-for-MacDoodle option and you're away. Just double click your new file to launch MacDoodle. And why not send the file to me at etchelon@kagi.com so that other people can share and enjoy?
